Advances in Investigation on Biomimetic Synthesis of Biological Crystal Materials Induced by Ordered Molecular Films Zhang Lijuan, Liu Hongguo, Feng Xusheng Abstract Langmuir monolayers, LB films and self-assembled
films are the important templates of mimicking biomineralization. Electrostatic
interactions, lattice geometrical matching, stereochemical complementarity and hydrogen
bond at film-crystal interfaces lead to oriented nucleation of crystals. So the crystals
with well-defined morphology, structure and property can be prepared. A few of biological
crystal materials studied in recent ten years were introduced emphatically in this paper.
